Our Whittier cruises through Prince William Sound’s calm, protected waters take you to the area’s dense concentration of glaciers and waterfalls. Most cruises feature onboard National Park Ranger narration and our famous Alaska salmon and prime rib buffet, freshly prepared and served while you cruise. Major Marine Tours is committed to giving back to our community and promoting environmental responsibility in Alaska. Many of us call Alaska home and we are dedicated to supporting the communities that help support us. We are committed to protecting Alaska’s wildlife and landscapes so we can continue sharing Alaska’s grandeur and beauty with our guests.

Ursa Major Charters

Ursa Major Charters specializes in customized 8-day adventure trips for 4-6 guests in southeast Alaska. Our Alaska trips are multi-activity trips aboard the beautiful motor yacht Ursa Major, and include sea kayaking, hiking, and wildlife viewing. We feel Alaska is not a shopping destination, but a chance to experience nature untrammeled by people. We cater specifically to guests who wish to experience Alaska in both adventure and comfort. The majority of the excursions during our adventure trips are non-motorized, and focus on no-trace kayaking. Aboard the Ursa Major, we turn off our power-generating systems at night to not only save on fuel, but to ensure our guests will experience Alaska without noise pollution in a tranquil setting. Ursa Major Charters holds one of the few U.S. Forest Service “Special Use Permits” for shore excursions in the Tongass National Forest. This “no-trace principle” permit allows us to hike ashore and explore places few other visitors ever experience first-hand. We offer Alaskan adventure trips, trawler training trips, whale watching trips, and glacier viewing trips all throughout the summer season in southeast Alaska, from May to early September.
